NHS

Christina Solis and Kate Smiley are the NHS sponsors at EVHS.  Every year near the end of September, they will pass out info packets to students who meet the first criteria for NHS. 

 

The first criteria for students to receive an NHS Selection Packet is:

1. The student must be in 10th, 11th, or 12^th grade.
2. The student must be enrolled at EVHS for the semester prior to selection. (The student must be enrolled at EVHS the spring semester in the previous school year since selection is done in the fall.)
3. The student must have an overall average of 91 or higher or have an 85+ with a GPA of 4.6 or higher.

Students get to complete the packet with information about extracurricular activities, clubs/groups, work (if any), leadership roles, and other accomplishments.  Then there is a check of character with discipline records and a selection process with the NHS Faculty Council.  Students are notified by the beginning of November and then there is a ceremony to induct members.
