Principal:  Alfonso R. Longoria

BIOGRAPHY INFORMATION:

Alfonso R. Longoria has over 21 years of experience as an educator.   

Before coming to East View High School, Mr Longoria served as principal at Tippit Middle School.  Longoria is a former Academy Director in Austin ISD and Assistant Principal with Leander ISD.  He has a Masters in Educational Leadership from Texas State University.  Prior to his time in Leander ISD, Longoria had football coaching stints at John B. Connally High School and Del Valle High School in Austin, Tx.  He also spent time at the collegiate level at the University of Arkansas.

Mr. Longoria enjoys spending time with his three children and loves to read books on leadership.  He also enjoys watching football at all levels and is an avid San Francisco 49ers fan.

Associate Principal: Ms. Missy Howard

BIOGRAPHY INFORMATION:

I have worked in public education for 20 years and taught high school English for 14 years. I taught in a couple of schools around Lubbock, but most recently at Lago Vista High School. For the last 6 years, I have been an assistant principal. I served as the AP at Lago Vista Elementary for two years and at Lago Vista High School for four years before coming to East View.

I enjoy reading, working in the yard, and hanging out on my patio.

BIOGRAPHY INFORMATION:

Mr. Wang, entering his 11th year in education, is honored to be a Patriot and serve the East View family as your Assistant Principal. He started his educational journey as a Biology teacher at Round Rock HS, continued as a Biology teacher at Westwood HS, and has also served 6 years as the Director of Speech & Debate at Westwood HS. Throughout the past 10 years, he has concurrently served in several servant leadership positions: UIL District Chair, UIL Academic Coordinator, International Baccalaureate Advisor, University of Texas at Austin Curriculum Coordinator, Summer School Principal, and Assistant Principal.

Mr. Wang enjoys traveling all over the world and sampling all of the unique local cuisine that each country has to offer. His current goal is to visit all of the National Parks in the United States (next up on the list are Redwood, Everglades, Glacier National Parks)! He also enjoys being civically engaged with his local community, championing the needs of all students, and focusing on creating a culture of relationship building with all stakeholders.

BIOGRAPHY INFORMATION:

I will be starting my 15th year in education and my 4th year at EVHS. I was at McNeil HS prior to EV, for 11 years teaching and coaching.

I am a true Austinite, born and raised. I grew up about 30 mins south of Georgetown, and spent my high school years traveling up here to play Georgetown in volleyball and softball. After graduating from college a became a volleyball coach, and even though I hung up my whistle I still enjoy playing in social leagues around the city. I also enjoy traveling, reading and keeping up with friendships and loved ones.

BIOGRAPHY INFORMATION:

This is my 21st year in education and my 2nd year serving the East View community as an Assistant Principal. Prior to joining the East View family, I was a teacher and coach at Forbes Middle School here in Georgetown. During my career I have taught and coached at the following schools: Round Rock McNeil HS, Irving Macarthur HS, Vista Ridge HS, and Leander Middle School

I'm super excited to be a part of the East View campus. I grew up in the Central Texas area, and long remember the trips to Georgetown to compete in athletic events. I'm a former college basketball player and basketball coach, and really enjoy sports, cooking, music, and movies when I have some free time. Onward East View, Always BeliEVe!!

BIOGRAPHY INFORMATION:

Ms. Virnig is entering her 27th year in education. Prior to becoming a Patriot, Ms. Virnig served at Tippit Middle School for 15 years as an Assistant Principal, a 6th grade Science teacher, and a 7th grade Math teacher. Prior to coming to GISD, Ms. Virnig taught 5th and 6th grade math and science at Hornsby-Dunlap Elementary School in Del Valle ISD.
