EVHS Updates
Attention 9th Grade Parents & New to EVHS Parents,
I want to remind you about our Freshman/New Student Orientation on Thursday August 8th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm here at EVHS. Students are encouraged to arrive between 5:00 - 5:30 for check in and should be dropped off at the Cafeteria entrance in the front of the school.
At Freshman Orientation students can expect to:

Meet their peers and EVHS staff.
-
Get a tour of EVHS.
-
Learn about high school life.
-
Learn the EVHS School Song and more.
There will also be a parent meeting for 9th grade parents and new student parents from 6 - 7 in the EVHS theater during Freshman Orientation. Parents can drop off their students and head to the theater for the meeting.
Device Pick Up
We will have another opportunity for students to pick up devices before the first day of school. Brand new devices are still being prepared and shipped in preparation for the school year. Please be on the lookout for dates and times for chromebook pick up coming soon.

Atención padres de noveno grado y padres nuevos en EVHS,
Quiero recordarles sobre nuestra Orientación para estudiantes nuevos y de primer año el jueves 8 de agosto de 5:30 a 7:30 pm aquí en EVHS. Se anima a los estudiantes a llegar entre las 5:00 y las 5:30 para registrarse y deben dejarlos en la entrada de la cafetería al frente de la escuela.
En la Orientación para estudiantes de primer año, los estudiantes pueden esperar:

Conozca a sus compañeros y al personal de EVHS.

Haga un recorrido por EVHS.

Aprende sobre la vida en la escuela secundaria.

Aprenda la canción escolar de EVHS y más.
También habrá una reunión de padres para padres de noveno grado y padres de nuevos estudiantes de 6.º a 7.º grado en el teatro EVHS durante la Orientación para estudiantes de primer año. Los padres pueden dejar a sus estudiantes y dirigirse al teatro para la reunión.
Recogida del dispositivo
Tendremos otra oportunidad para que los estudiantes recojan sus dispositivos antes del primer día de clases. Todavía se están preparando y enviando dispositivos nuevos en preparación para el año escolar. Esté atento a las fechas y horarios de recogida de Chromebook próximamente.

Junior Conferences Will Start Next Week!
We will be meeting with juniors about their graduation plan and updating course requests for next year starting next week. Please be talking to your student about what they want to take for their senior year, and what they are planning to do post graduation. Â

Interested in taking ACC history and english courses during junior year? Make sure to complete all steps found on this page by March 15, 2024. The spots in the courses are limited and open on a first come, first serve basis. The tuition fee is waived for the courses; however, students are responsible for any textbooks or supplies that the professor requires.
Summer ACC Classes: Online or at Any ACC Campus (open to Grades 9-11):

New to ACC: Make sure to complete all steps found on this page by March 15, 2024. ACC opens summer registration for new students on April 5. The tuition fee is waived for the courses; however, students are responsible for any textbooks or supplies that the professor requires.

SUMMET Opportunity:
The Summer Multicultural Engineering Training (SUMMET) program is an engineering, science and technology program designed for current 10th and 11th graders (rising 11th and 12th graders) from underrepresented populations, including ethnic or racial minorities, women and prospective first-generation college students.

SUMMET combines coursework, hands-on projects, team-building activities and social events. The program provides exposure to the lifestyle, opportunities, and challenges of college and is designed to help build skills and experiences for a smooth transition from high school to college.
Â
This is a one-week residential program, allowing participants to live on campus for the duration of the program, experience life as a college student and participate in STEM-related curriculum instruction.
Â
This program is FREE to participants, except for a $50 confirmation fee if you are accepted into the program. Transportation to and from the program is not included in the cost and is the responsibility of the participants.
