Coach Mike Burton

Coach Burton has coached the East View Patriots since 2014. An ex-collegiate runner himself, Coach Burton has a passion for the sport of cross country and believes that through distance runners athletes can learn work ethic, self discipline and leadership.  Coach Burton led the 2018 Varsity Girls team to the school’s first girls district championship and followed it up the following year adding the boys title.  He has also coached a total of eight teams to the regional meet as well as eight state qualifiers. 

Coach Burton is married to his wife Sarah, former collegiate athlete herself, running for the Longhorns at the University of Texas.  Together they have one child, Ben.
