Melissa A. Harrington is in her 23rd year as a high school Athletic Trainer.  She has worked at several high schools during her career.  She worked at her alma mater Odessa High, spent 8 years at McNeil, was the first athletic trainer for Cedar Ridge, and helped various teams to nine UIL state medals over five years at Liberty Hill.  She is a Certified Teacher, CPR/First Aid/CPR Instructor, and Instructor Trainer. She is trained in: myofascial decompression (cupping), muscle scraping, concussion trajectories, and certified to practice dry needling. 

Melissa is passionate about ACL rehab and concussion rehabilitation within her profession.  She has served as a Faculty member for the Davis Mountains Sports Medicine Clinic as well as a presenter.  She has been chosen as a TGCA All-Star Atheltic Trainer in 2005 and 2023, received the Everette Blackburn Award in 2010, and the Truman Spoon Award for service to the education of athletic trainers in 2012.  

Melissa and her husband Charlie (also an Athletic Trainer) have been married for 18 years.  They do not have any children of their own but consider it an honor and a great responsibility to be part of the village to mold teenagers.  They both have a passion for Rodeo and provide Athletic Training services for Rodeo athletes.  They have a company, Rodeo Sports Medicine, that keeps them busy 42 weekends a year.  Melissa is also the regional contact for Just Boots Sportsmedicine for Rodeo Austin and Bulls in the Ballpark. 

When not at school or a Rodeo, Melissa likes to hang out with her dogs Pennie and Stitches, watch TV with the hubs,  spend time with friends and family.
